VICKIE MAERTZ OTR, OTD
COURSE DEVELOPMENT & LECTURER TEXAS TRAINER # 3350 CHILD CARE HEALTH CONSULTANT
Vickie Maertz owner of PALS- Physical & Academic Learning Services in Columbus, Texas holds a Masters of Occupational Therapy and a Doctorate of Occupational Therapy from Belmont University in Nashville, TN.
Her background includes working for school districts , Early Childhood Intervention , pediatric home health and private practice. Vickie is SIPT certified , Interactive Metronome provider, Berard AIT, and Therapeutic Listening. She has lectured nationally on the topic of Autism, ADHD and Sensory Processing Disorders, along with Early Childhood training in Texas as a Master Register Trainer #3350.
Vickie co-authored a book entitled “Classroom Strategies For Children with ADHD, Autism & Sensory Processing Disorders: Solutions for Behavior, Attention and Emotional Regulation” with Karen Hyche. Vickie is a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association.
Vickie continues to work with children at the Columbus/Mentz, Texas location.
Mindy Hanak
PALS TRAINING COORDINATOR
Mindy Hanak is the PALS Training Coordinator. Prior to working with PALS she worked at a financial institution for over 11 years helping customer and staff. During her time in banking she held many different positions to help grow and develop her and her customer goals. Mindy helped customers with their financial needs in planning meeting and trainings.
In October 2016 the company decided to change plans and closed the branch she worked at. She took about a year off to help her son that was having learning and behavioral issues at school. That’s when her son joined PALS and Vickie began to work with him. During that time Vickie and Mindy got to know each other more and had the same vision. They want to help and inspire others. PALS was looking for a training coordinator and Mindy was asked to join the PALS team in August of 2017. During that time she grew and learned a lot attending the training with Vickie.
She is currently working on getting her Texas Training License in financial/budgeting and team leadership building skills.
